How does it work ?
For the provider:
- Register in rentfromlocals.com through the menu "register"
- Confirm the email address using the automatic email that you will get in your inbox. Pay attention, this email may come in the Spam folder, be sure to check it as well
- Publish your car/apartment through the "New listing" menu
- Select category and subcategory
- Fill in the required fields and upload as many photos as possible
- In the location field put the exact address
- Publish the car/apartment
- Wait for rental requests. They will come in your email inbox.
- Approve or reject the request within 3 days. After this deadline the reservation is canceled automatically. However try to take this step as soon as possible.
- Communicate with the customer to arrange delivery of the keys
- Check the condition of the car/apartment with the customer
- Get paid.
- Ask the customer to confirm the delivery on the website
- After the rental period, arrange for the return to take place
- Check the car/apartment condition with the customer
- Give rating for the other party on the website
For the customer:
- Register in rentfromlocals.com through the menu "register"
- Look for the car/apartment you are interested in. You can use the search criteria by category, dates, city, options, etc.
- After selecting the car/apartment follow the booking process.
- Attention: During the reservation you pay by card only the service fee, while the quota that you owe to the provider will be given to him / her in hand during the exchange of keys. The service fee is not charged from the card at the time of booking, but only after you have confirmed the delivery. So you are 100% protected in any case. Card payments are protected by Stripe. No data is processed by Rent From Locals
- Wait for the provider approval
- Communicate with him through the messaging feature on the website to agree on the place and time where the delivery will take place
- Once you have verified with the provider the condition or the car/apartment, pay for the reservation in cash.
- Confirm on the website that you received the car/apartment (important)
- Once you have completed the reservation period, return the keys to the provider after completing a damage verification
- Give rating for the other party on the website
Car Insurance
- There are 3 types of insurance offered:
- Basic - Is the legal insurance, in case of collision it covers the damage repair value to the third party
- Cover 80% collision - On top of the insurance included in the basic option, it also covers up to 80% of the damage value to the rented car. It only applies in case of collision. a police report is necessary
- Cover 80% all events - Covers up to 80% of the lost value, regardless of the event
- On top of the insurance offered, some owners offer also full protection against an additional daily charge. The full cover means that the customer is exempt from any responsibility despite the circumstances, with the exception of cases when there is intention
- Some owners also define a maximum liability amount, which applies in case the full cover option is not purchased
Road assistance for cars
It indicates that the car provider offers road assistance within the territory of Albania, in case the car has a technical issue. A replacement car is eventually offered depending on inventory
Cross border policy for cars
In case it is set to Yes it means that you are generally allowed to cross the border with the chosen car. However it is important to have a look at the other information related to crossing the border. There can be an additional fee or deposit. In addition, road assistance abroad is often limited. Check in case there is other information provided such as extra fees, or limitation in terms of km from the Albanian border
